Viking Kari, Radgrid, Skaga and Fjorgyn
Four structurally identical ships will be delivered by NEPTUN WERFT in 2020: Viking Kari, Viking Radgrid, Viking Skada and Viking Fjorgyn. The vessels commissioned by Viking River Cruises have a similar design to the Viking Longships, but passengers can look forward to greater comfort. These are the first hybrid-powered river cruise ships in the shipping company’s fleet.
All four vessels will operate along the River Seine in France; they’ve been shortened by 10 metres to 125 metres, so that they can travel straight into the centre of Paris. The new Viking river cruisers can accommodate up to 168 passengers. The two Explorer Suites are a real on-board highlight with balconies that curve around the stern, offering passengers a magnificent 270-degree view. The four vessels also feature 22 standard cabins, 18 staterooms with a French balcony, 35 cabins with their own balcony and 7 suites with their own veranda.
The new Viking ships not only have an on-board walking route, but also an expansive sun deck, a restaurant, a lounge with a bar, a boutique and a library. The outer deck is also fitted with innovative solar panels that will cover some of the ships’ energy needs.
