Good Cooperation and High-Tech
Ensure Smooth Conveyance
Papenburg, 1 July 2011 - The Celebrity Silhoutte started her conveyance down the river Ems in the late afternoon of 30 June. Supported by the authorities in charge of the river and in cooperation with weather experts, the ship reached the Ems estuary in Emden in the early morning hours on 1 July. By closing the Ems barrier the river was dammed up to a level that was merely 60 cm higher than during the last high tide. Hence the dyke foreland was not flooded. The Celebrity Silhouette will start her sea trials this week, and will then return to the trials port in Eemshaven.
