Spirit of Discovery
Spirit of Discovery is the first new ship that MEYER WERFT built for Saga Cruises. The cruise liner was delivered in 2019, and a structurally identical ship will be delivered to the British shipping company in 2020.
Our master shipbuilders in Papenburg have been commissioned to build two luxury liners for Saga Cruises: Spirit of Discovery and Spirit of Adventure. Both cruise ships boast an elegant blue hull and an extraordinary interior and exterior design. They can each accommodate 999 passengers and are designed for people over the age of 50 – with all the necessary facilities. A sophisticated atmosphere can be found on both decks, featuring a theatre, library, golf simulator and small pool areas. In addition to various stylish bars and restaurants, the Saga ships also house a gym, a spa area and every stateroom has its very own balcony.
Spirit of Discovery and Spirit of Adventure aren’t the largest vessels – measuring 236 metres in length and 31.2 metres in width – but they do offer the highest standards in every respect: The Saga sisters are characterised by their eco-friendly and resource-saving design and their appropriate facilities for the older generations.
