Silja Symphony

Silja Symphony was delivered by the Finnish shipyard, now MEYER TURKU, in 1991. The ro-ro ferry was built for Effjohn Oy (now Silja Oy). Its structurally identical sister ship, Silja Serenade, had been delivered to the Estonian shipping company a year earlier.

Silja Serenade and Silja Symphony became the largest cruise ferries in the world when they were commissioned. Unlike any other ferries before them, their promenade stretches around the entire length of the ships, almost doubling the number of cabins with windows.

Silja Symphony is currently operating along the Helsinki – Mariehamn – Stockholm route for the Finnish shipping company Tallink Silja. Thanks to its 1A Super ice class rating, the cruise ferry can also be used on routes with extreme ice conditions.
