Silja Europa
In 1993, MEYER WERFT delivered the largest ferry that had ever been built at the time – Silja Europa. The passenger ship with a tonnage measurement of almost 60,000 GT can accommodate over 3,000 passengers and around 340 cars. It spent many years travelling around the Baltic.
The 200-metre-long ferry features restaurants, bars, a theatre, a nightclub and a swimming pool with adjoining sauna. It’s also worth highlighting the fact that Silja Europa boasts the highest ice class rating (1A Super), allowing it to travel through ice measuring up to one metre in thickness.
Silja Europa was chartered out to Australia as a hotel ship in 2014 before resuming its Baltic operations in spring 2016. It currently operates for Tallink Autoexpress Ltd. between Tallinn and Helsinki.
