Mein Schiff 5
Mein Schiff 5 was delivered to TUI Cruises in 2016. It’s the third of four ships in the Blue Motion series.
All vessels in this class were built by MEYER TURKU – one newly built liner left our Finnish shipyard every year between 2014 and 2017. Mein Schiff 3 was followed by Mein Schiff 4, 5 and 6.
All four ships mainly feature outside cabins, which means around 90% of the 2,500 passengers can enjoy a magnificent sea view. They also boast a whole range of other features, such as a 25-metre outdoor pool and the “Klanghaus” – the first ever philharmonic orchestra on the high seas (Mein Schiff 4, Mein Schiff 5 und Mein Schiff 6) house a different attraction, the “Studio”, featuring a holographic stage). The “Diamant”, a bright glass façade spread over two decks at the stern of the ship, was another new addition in 2014. Other impressive areas include a 280-metre-long running track and the “Blauer Balkon”, a glass platform hovering 37 metres above the sea.
The luxury liners in the Mein Schiff series have significantly lower emissions thanks to their extensive environmental features, such as their exhaust desulphurisation system and nitrogen oxide catalytic converter.
The four ships only differ slightly in their interior layout, such as in the number and arrangement of their cabins, bars and restaurants.
