Papenburg, 05.07.2002 - The latest cruise vessel from the MEYER WERFT Shipyard of Papenburg, Germany - the 90,090 GT Brilliance of the Seas - was delivered to Royal Caribbean International on Friday, 5th July 2002. Brilliance of the Seas is the second luxury cruise liner to have been built by the Papenburg shipyard for Royal Caribbean. This newbuilding will further strengthen the US cruise line's leading position in the cruise industry. In addition to a very slim, yacht like design with many glazed fronts the luxury liner's interior offers a variety of special features and great comfort. Almost 75% of the cabins are outside cabins with private balcony. The turbine plant, podded propulsion, state-of-the-art stage technology and interactive communications systems provide comfort, entertainment and safety of the latest technical standards. After delivery the Brilliance of the Seas will leave the Dutch port of Eemshaven and head for Harwich, England, via Amsterdam. The christening ceremony will take place in Harwich on 13th July 2002. On 15th July she will set out on her maiden voyage with destination Scandinavia. From autumn 2002 the vessel will operate 12-day cruises in the Caribbean. A further two vessels of this series for RCI will be completed by the end of 2004. At present the new cruise ship "Serenade of the Seas" is under construction in the yard´s building dock. This ship will be delivered to RCI in the autumn of 2003. Brilliance of the Seas - Main Particulars
